Dr. iur. Laura Melusine Baudenbacher

Laura Melusine Baudenbacher’s practice focuses on Swiss business law, EU law, and Swiss-EU bilateral law. She has particular expertise in Swiss and European competition and unfair competition law, economic human rights law, Swiss administrative law, and EU internal market and state aid law. As a lawyer admitted to the bars of Switzerland and Belgium, she represents clients in proceedings before Swiss and European authorities and courts.

Laura Melusine Baudenbacher is listed as a Rising Star in Antitrust Law by Expert Guides, a directory of the “best and most talented lawyers in business law and related fields” based on independent research and peer nominations.

Prior to founding Nobel Baudenbacher, Laura Melusine Baudenbacher was Managing Partner of Baudenbacher Law, Zurich/Brussels. From 2016 to 2021, she was an attorney in the Brussels office of Linklaters LLP and the Brussels and Cologne offices of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. She has advised European, US, Russian, and Asian clients on Swiss, German, and EU/EEA competition law, EU banking law, and Swiss private and administrative law.

Since 2021, Laura Melusine Baudenbacher is a lecturer in European competition law at the University of Luxembourg. Between 2014 and 2017, she was a guest lecturer at the University of St. Gallen HSG on “Competition law enforcement by Swiss and European courts”. From 2011 to 2016, Laura Melusine Baudenbacher clerked for the President of the Second Division and former President of the Swiss Federal Administrative Court, Hans Urech. In 2015, she received a summa cum laude Ph.D. from the University of Zurich for a thesis on the topic “From the common European to the European prohibition of abuse of rights” (“Vom gemeineuropäischen zum europäischen Rechtsmissbrauchsverbot”) with Professors Andreas Heinemann and Matthias Oesch.
